Open February 15: McLaren has signed Pedro de la Rosa to drive the third car on Fridays for at least the first few Grands Prix. Alexander Wurz may take the seat once the new car has been modified to allow him to fit more easily.

Open November 2: Autosport reports that Sauber has reached a tire supply agreement with Michelin, starting in 2005. This may open the door for Toyota to switch to Bridgestone.

October 20: Team Dubai F1 has announced its intention to campaign the 2006 season. Autosport says it is in negotiations with McLaren for technical assistance and to run Mercedes engines. The team has withdrawn from negotiations to buy Jordan, preferring to establish its own identity.
